I'm not in favour of charity organisations, and never have been. I recommend approaching people directly to make your donation or help them in other ways, especially your "own" relatives.

It's nice to help others through charity organisations, but I'm sure that many Lao expats still have poor relatives in Laos, so maybe helping them should be the first priority.

you should start your own charitable org, it dont have to be official. who says you cant gather money and go to laos and help out a school and buy everyone some paper and pens. you dont need a charitable org to act as the middle man, of course it would be easier but i believe your money will be stolen lol

I do that too. Every two month me and my brother send couple hundred dollars to relative in Laos. They are poor but have house, land and farm. Wire the money through the bankpay about $10 fee, and your relative can pick up the money right away at any bank in Laos just give them transcript number. We also help them paying for school and other stuff. We in America are poor too got lot of bills to pay every month.
