Alcohol and beer in particular is an important part of Lao culture. Most Lao people enjoy socialising and partying and they drink bottles and bottles of beer until they can't take it anymore.
Even those who don't like to drink beer have had a sip once in a while to show courtesy because it's not the Lao way to refuse a drink when someone offers one. Beer consumption in Laos has increased dramatically over the years to the point that drinking beer has become a stereotype for Laotians.
Beerlao and Tiger are the main beers in Laos that are sold at affordable prices. Carlsberg is also available
but consumed by wealthier people because it is more expensive.
Laotians should be proud of the fact that Beerlao is considered Asia's best beer by TIME magazine.
