Title: Fishermen in Vientiane
Post by Lao Pride Administrator on 23rd Mar, 2009 at 3:22am
Fishermen at work on the Mekong River in Vientiane.

The water level is very low in March which is the hot season and you can basically walk across the river into Thailand in the background of the photo.

Is it still Nongkhai on the other side?

You don't happen to know where this photo was taken, do you?

Larb Dip, The other side of Vientiane from where this picture was taken near the Don Chan Palace, is a town called Si Chiang Mai in Thailand. This also used to be part of Laos. Nong Khai is at the Friendship Bridge.

JACKSPADE, The wet season, which is beginning now.

Why isn't it a part of Laos today? Did the Commies sell it off?
