I prefer not to name them but there's plenty of places where they sing live music all over Vientiane.

Remember, chatting in the internet is a lot different when meeting the person face to face.  She's very outspoken here, but, I think she's very shy in real life. :)

I met a lot of people online and actually met up face to face.  Me personally I have no problems/worries.  I'm a people person face to face or even online...I used to be shy younger years, but, that's changed. :)  Buk IIWJ how about you?

Actually, I am 90% sure that she is a he.  Just check out "her" domain registration.   In Australia.  "She" owns 33 other domain names.  All for commercial profit to get you men here, in hopes of finding a real Lao woman.  But no meeting actually takes place.  We are all fish in a barrel.

This avatar is not the real Solivan.  I am sure of this Mr.  Too bad.  I would love to meet the real woman who's picture you have stolen.

KindlerclanYou are absolutely correct about the domain names and the registrant. I don't know about anyone else, I'm not here looking for women.  I'm here for information, updates regarding our homeland, and hoping to chat with you guys about Lao topics or issues.  Overall, that's about it for me.  The only reason I came across to this website was because of You Tube videos. :)There are way too many pathetic and desperate people looking for love using online websites and end up getting scammed in the end. It's sad but very true.  I'm not saying all websites scam.  People just need to be more alert and use precaution.  When something is too good to be true than it probably is. If you want to meet women through the online network you can use  facebook or myspace.   If you don't want that you can find people on these messengers: MSN LIVE, ICQ, etc... If you want to confirm who the person you are talking to you can always have a video conference or using various voice chats (Team Speak, Ventrilo, etc...). For me personally,  I have met a lot of great people through online gaming/music community.  In my lifetime I have met 8 people face to face who became my best friends in real life.  Always remember, don't jump the gun if you happen to meet a girl/friend online.  Find as much information about him/her to make sure he/she is who they say they are.  Otherwise, you could end up in a box or even bankrupt.   Be very careful. :)

Kinderclan, Those who understand the internet know that domain registration doesn't mean anything except that it is registered to an individual or organisation.

If John owns many hotels, Susan may run the day to day operation of one of those hotels.

Our site is registered in Australia, hosted in America, operated in Lao PDR and assisted in England. Therefore Australia is not the only country connected with our site.

We understand very well about Internet business, Why you choose "dot com" to be your site.(The most recognise and the cheapest)   registered in Australia,(weak in copy right law)  , Using some of the "know how" in other country.(Laos still lack of technology personel).

I understand there are cost involve and you have to recuperate the cost of running the site. all the people involve do need to eat... This is why you are concentrate on took most of the photo involve with the young girl so you can promote your introduction on line... it's a business decision.
This is your site...You can run the way you see fit!
I rest my case!

Buk IIWJ,That's great!! :)  I guess you have no problem meeting up with the poo sao.  After looking at the photo "eat me" dancer...I don't think I'll be hanging out with any "poo sao muang" with an identity crisis.  They don't deserve respect or anything from me.

Speaking of Beer Lao, I noticed kids ages 6+ are are still hardcore drinkers.  I'm curious, is there any current age regulation as far as drinking is concern?  I remember I started drinking  home made rice beer at age 7-8 on a daily basis with my grandfather.  Thank god my parents came back for me from Thailand.  Imagine,  if they had not come back for me.  I'd probably  be an alcoholic, possibly have 6-10 kids with the Admin, kids and wife beating, arrested and who knows what else could have happen.  LOL

Title: Re: Live music
Post by Buk IIWJ on 3rd Mar, 2010 at 4:13pm
JACKSPADE - I'm not so sure about the law regard drinking age in Laos.  All I know, you can give $$ to kids at any age and send them out to get some beer for you.  Night clubs, bars, and even at restaurants you'll see bunch of minors consuming alcohols.  The government doesn't enforce it like the West.  Money is the king over there.

Title: Re: Live music
Post by Lao Pride Administrator on 4th Mar, 2010 at 1:31am
Buk IIWJ is right. Unfortunately, kids can buy alcohol and anyone can consume alcohol in Laos.

Most businesses do not care who you are, as long as you give them the money then they will give you the product/service.

Does this rule apply to sex too?

How old - or young - do you have to be, before brothels will let you enter - gynecologically?

When I was in Laos last year I went to Hongview and Wind West.  They have live band.  Not a bad place to hang out especially Hongview right by the Maekong river.  Admin, have you ever been to those places?   ;)

No, I haven't.

Live music venues are plentiful in Vientiane that play Lao/Thai music. They are not my type of music but I don't mind listening to them at the restaurants.

I love The Bee Gees, All 4 One, Judy Garland, Wilson Phillips, Whitney Houston, just to name a few.

Do you have any Lao music cd/vcd collection at all?  It looks like you are more influence by materials from the west. There's nothing wrong with it.  I'm just curious.  As for myself, I don't have any Lao music cd/vcd at all, the only time I listen to it is when my parents pull out their cd or vcd collection. :)  I mostly listen to Eurodance, Alternative, 80s rock, 80s country, 50s classic, and some 90s rap.

Back to topic, live concerts perform  by any Lao rock Bands are very enjoyable, doesn't matter who it is or where it is.  People get up, dance, eat, drink, sing, or even socialize.  It's in our blood. :)

In Vientaine, what do nightclubs usually play? Laos or Western or varieties?

Title: Re: Live music
Post by Admin Saovaluck on 5th Jun, 2011 at 4:08am
I have Lao music CD's and VCD's, but do not often play them. I used to listen to the popular stars of Laos such as Ting and Overdance during their early release, but their music gets boring after a while.

The nightclubs in Laos usually play western Hip Hop, R&B, Dance, Pop, and Lao and Thai depending on the place.

Do they play these guys on the Lao radio stations?
