It's a catch 22 situation, i love Laos because of the simple life, leaving Thailand behind seems good for me because of the importance they place on money all the time, i really want to live a simple life and leave wall street behind me, i am wealthy but i don't need to flaunt it, i think i will keep my eye on this web site and absorb all the information submitted because i need to learn more about this country, thank you for your reply and i will be a keen contributor in the future.

Laos is a more livable and peaceful country than troubled Thailand, so you will enjoy it if you want to live a simple lifestyle or even a high class life.

People are friendly and helpful towards one another in Laos, we have tremendous pride in being Laotians, we love our culture and seeing so many foreigners migrating to Laos over the years, and many more desperately wanting to migrate is evidence of how far we've come as a country.

Longhang, There's more chance of finding a Hmong girl than Lao in the mountains.

It's the mountains and countryside areas that have a high number of working girls.

I've been told many times not to bring a Lao girl to your hotel room alone or to date a Lao girl without her parents or chaperon accompanying her, i think it's a lot different from what i have been told, it seems life goes on like it does in Thailand, i'm learning a lot here in this forum and that's why i log on here, it's a learning curve and i thank everyone for their input, there are no wrong answers here just suggestions from everyone and all suggestions are welcome,  please keep posting i welcome all information, thank you.

i was under the impression that lao and hmong some what live side by side. i guess lao population tend to live towards the lowlands. hmong people...well i guess they take what no one wants therefore causing little to no conflict with the natives.

Look, at the end of the day the hotel manager will not approach you and say "you can't stay with us because you have a lady in your room." They don't have a problem with it, but the authorities is another matter. The law is there for people to abide by, and it comes down to individual choice. who said you can bring any girls back to your hotel...try the hotel along Phonkeng to Dongdok all Chinese run hotel will not care who do you bring back to the room as long as you pay the bill. most of the official will not go near them.
