I love the Lao dresses so much

Lao women are so beautiful without any makeup at all.  I've never liked that overdone traditional, formal makeup and hair - it tends to make all the women look nearly the same in my opinion.

But it's the traditional formal look, so never mind - it's only for special occasions.

Lao models and brides tend to wear a lot of makeup, it's a traditional Lao thing.

The Thais are no different.

Yeah, when I got married in Vientiane, so many years ago, they did up my wife like that.  But they went further - they dressed me up in similar fashion, like an 18th. century Laotian prince...............I even had a sword!   :)

@ Old Man: Yea, my wife says when she comes out, I will say, "HUH? Where is my wife? Who are you?" She always makes me laugh, sometimes we laugh and smile so much our mouths hurt. 55555

P.S. I saw the sword in one of the Lao wedding videos. I want one to take back home. Although my oldest daughter would probably want it more than I would. You should see her practicing with her Katana I bought for her - (no edge) or her long sword she bought for herself (very sharp edge).

I'm not there. The girls look similar, maybe the makeup artists ought to make their hairstyles a bit different.

I have to agree, Laos girls do have a natural beauty about them. Please don't become like Korean woman. They fix so much. Make me wanna go back to Laos and look for a gf.

I love kimchi, although the kimchi that I had in VTE wasn't so delicious, except for the kimchi that I tried at a North Korean restaurant called Pyongyang. I noticed quite a few Korean restaurants in VTE. 

Do not each too much though... One time I had alot of these kimchis in a Japanese resataurant and when I start showing I kept farting and farting and I wished I had a gas mask just to save myself from suffication ;D.  Kimchi is very dangerous!

You should checkout the numerous Korean (both North and South) restaurants in Vientiane. I prefer the North Korean restaurant called Pyongyang which serves specializes Northern dishes.

North has chinese flovor, South, Thai Flavor, East, Viet. ;D ;D

Like any country there's regional differences in various dishes. North Korean cuisine tends to use less chili peppers in their kimchi compared to their counterparts in the south. The southern most part of South Korea tends to use a lot of seafood in their kimchi like whole pickled fish, oysters, squid, etc. The north tends to use ingredients like pine nuts, Asian pears, chestnuts and even ginseng. There's also a dish that originated in the north but widely popular in the south called naengmyeon or cold noodles in English. There's many more examples but I'm too tired to explain the differences now. LOL!!! It's been a long day and a bowl of khao piak sen is calling my name.

It actually contained shredded chicken. I'm not Lao.  :)
