A traditional Lao girl is not upfront about how she feels. She will let her actions show how she feels about you.

A Lao girl who date western men are generally westernised, and she may say how she feels.

What type of 'actions' does she 'show' in regards to 'how she feels about you'?

When communicating with locals in Laos, I have noticed that many are keen to abstain from eye contact. I sort of got the feeling that they got more pleasure from studying the dirt on their flip-flops. In western society this is considered rude.

Can someone clear this up for me.

Well, how she treats you will show some sign if she likes you or not.

I don't know about you, but many locals in Laos look at me in the eye.

Maybe it's something about you that they don't want to see?

This non eye-contact behaviour is more prevalent when the locals are conversing for the first time with someone unfamiliar. Their eyes eventually do come up, but only after when they became used to me. Maybe they think all overseas Lao are 'kee-qoiy' and don't want to risk rejection. Who knows?

I do look quite intimidating, especially when I FROWN >:(
