An anklet (ankle chain or ankle bracelet) has become part of the fashion trends for Lao women over the years. They are worn with both formal and casual wear. Whether it's sexy, trendy or trashy is the opinion of each individual.

I have noticed many girls wearing these jewelries. Personally i find it very elegant. I easily get my gaze caught by lao woman wearing the silk skirt rather the tiny jeans shorts. I think that there is a reason that goes beyond fashion. Gold! The women can wear (display) more gold that way and it remains quite discreet. Many lao girls wear their small fortune in gold rather having a bank account Especially if they are from the countryside.
Admin please do not tell to larp dip that it is your feet or he will open some kind of shrine for fetish cult! :)

Is this called 'baladeen? ;D I know bracelets are called 'balakaan.'

They used to be popular. A lot of the Lao kids used to have their names inscribed on the oblong piece, back in the day. You rarely see anyone rocking one these days.

Nice! but i still prefer the long version. I did not see this short version very often. Is it more common nowadays?

You don't often see Lao girls wear short sinh skirts for casual wear on the streets.

These outfit are usually reserved for performances and festivals.

I love anklets. They look so pretty and girlish. You can get it of various colors and design to suit any attire.
