1 US gallon = 3.785 liter

When I was there a few days ago, the price was:

Diesel: 9800 - 10500 kips per liter

Regular Unleaded: 10900 - 11500 kips per liter

Most vehicles there ran on diesel which got better gas mileage but they don't accelerate fast.

Toyota Vigo's were everywhere. It was actually cheap to get around Vientiane, don't need much gas to get around, just turn off the engine when you get stuck in the stand still traffic, usually caused by one person trying to turn the wrong way, haha.

If you just want to go around the city of VT you don't really need a car, a motorcycle will do just fine.
