Title: Tenpin Bowling in Vientiane
Post by Admin Saovaluck on 8th Mar, 2013 at 4:35pm

Tenpin Bowling in Vientiane

The bowling alley floor and ceiling is in need of renovation. I also don't think there is a need to hang the Lao flag and the Soviet Hammer and Sickle flag in an entertainment centre, just saying.

Just like Admins say. Hammer and Sickle flag is Russia not Laos flag.

Agreed not in bowling alley. Bowling and drinking beer is fun. Look kind of small though. How much it cost to bowl in Laos?

Nothing wrong with hanging your own nation's flag in a business location.  Ok then let's compromise- hang the flag outside the business ;D.

The owner of this blowing alley is probably Russian.

It costs just over $1 (10,000 kip) per game.

There are 12 lanes and usually there are some vacant lanes. That's big enough for a country where tenpin bowling isn't a popular sport.

The owner is more likely Lao, who supports communism.

There are enough flags already on the streets of Laos. Maybe it's just me but I have an issue with flags bombarding me at an entertainment centre, I'm here to play bowling and I don't want to see flags in front of me.

If the flags are hang even at every smaller business then this is too excessive.

To be honest the Lao flag is the better looking flag when comparing to flags of other countries around the world.

If I was the official, I would ban all flag hanging from flags of other nations(like Russia, Vietnam, China etc..).

Kind of ironic that the flags would be in a bowling alley. I'd like to throw them a strike, haha.
They need to put the national symbol up there too, the beerlao logo. Drink beers, throw some heavy balls around, sing some loso songs, what more can you ask for...

Maybe Beerlao doesn't sponsor them.

Nothing wrong with hanging a symbol national pride in a bussienss location.  In the greatest republic of Texas we show our republic flags everywhere including in office walls and bumper stickers on cars and etc.

The communist flag can offend people in a business location. The Lao flag can be placed outside the business on a pole or hang it behind the counter, that's what I would do anyway.

We are also proud to display the Lao flag on Lao Pride, but the Hammer and Sickle symbol that represents communism will never be on our website because it doesn't reflect what we stand for.

A good majority of us Texans do not want to be associated with the usa anymore because of the obvious reasons that are currently going on in DC.  Destruction of the U.S constitution, less individual freedoms and mis-usage of my tax money ain't my cheesburgers Y'ALL ;D!

Well that is highly good to hear.  Whatever Laos evolve into as the future progresses,  the one most significant thing that needs to be in every Lao person's mindset is national pride of who we are during our lifetime ::).  This is what the flag represents.

Flags of other nations in Laos displaying behind the counters, on walls and hanging on poles need to come down.

You must be a Republican. Uncle Sam does spend a lot of taxes money. About $800 billion in Iraq war alone. :)

Barack Hussein Obama spends our tax money on stupid stuff and he ain't stopping for 4 more years.  Our national debt has increased $4 billions dollars more since he is there for.

$800 billion dollars to spend in Irag for the last 12 years is well spent money to remove a dictator and hopefully allow more freedom for the people of Irag.  In addition,  the spent money is also helping  to lower the everyday costs of goods and services.

Not a Democrat or Republican - just a freedom loving Texas proud common sense driven tax paying Texan.
