Haha good one Admins. I just need a small little house with wall and bathroom so other people don't see me when I sleep. Land is getting expensive in Vietiane thought. My relative bought land for about $15,000 build little house, about 10 year later price went up about $100,000.

Nice 10,000 or $100,000? In the US I think anybody can get green card for $500,000 investment. Then citizenship in 5 year. Great idea you have to earn and don't get it right alway.

Title: Re: Retire in Laos

You probably not fully enclosed car garages in Laos because the temperature is warm or hot throughout the year.  Enclose garages would be more wise in areas of cold weather environments and environments of drastic changes in temperatures very cold and then very warm based on seaonal changes.

The higher you are above ground the closer you are to Heaven :moonwalk1.

Scooters are probably not feasible during the wet season ::).

Chinese-made motorbikes costs around $300-$400 on average.

Kolao are mid-priced motorbikes, and Japanese-made motorbikes are the best quality and most expensive, costing over $1,000.

Prices of motorbikes also vary depending on whether it's manual or automatic.

I think this is applied to all in the world.

There are two ways, open one, close door one.

This is no government of people, for the people.

This is only government of politicians, for the politicians. ;D

Agriculture :dancing

If the goverment wants a better future for their people I can see it happening. But the reason why i don't see it happening cause they're being greedy and keeping  whatever  wealth they make  among themselves. Its sad but true.

Sun is still shining and Moon glows at night.

Always try to make the best out of a situation.

The top priority policy is to invest in your countrymen.

Very true. But it seems that will never happen as long
there is greed and corruption.Especially when you have
a goverment that doesn't have to answer to the people
that they're suppose to represent. My way or the highway.
There way hasn't been working.Open up your eyes people.
Look at what other countries and see how properous they are.

There was killing fields in Cambodia. Now they're ahead and developing. I wonder what Laos or Cambodia would look like today if Vietnam war never happen.

If Vietnam war didn't happen and North Vietnam, Viet Cong didn't invade Laos. Laos would probably be two time more prosper and developed then now. As you can see after 35 year after 1975 Laos is still the least developed and poorest nation in Southest Asia :)

This would suggest that Cambodia is very independent.

Cambodia is currently more prosperous than Laos and it's mostly likely related to the fact that Cambodia is adjacent to the sea.

That's one of the reason ocean, multi party system and larger population about 15 million. Laos only 7 million.

In the past 600 year Laos and Cambodia never went to war with each other. First queen of Laos was Khmer princess. :)

Cambodian people are friendly .My personal opinion is that they don't tend to look down on other people.I think they had enough of war and killing .They want to move their country foward.

I am chinese, I have many Vietnamese friends. I dont feel any hatred or something like this.

As for government level, I dont think any government has perpetual good relationship with the other.

Not everybody like the government. In America we just can't wait until 2016 so we can votes for the new one. Some people are sick of Obama :)

Cambodians generally like the Lao people because they haven't historically been in conflict with one another. Both countries are sandwiched between Thailand and Vietnam so they have an interest in sticking together. The Cambodians also prefer Beerlao to their own beer.

As an American, my favorite people are the Lao people and the Cambodian people but that is just my opinion.

I think they just have less corruption.Plus they wanna move forward after all that killing.I think they don't have a 1 party
rule system like Laos.Kinda ironic when the LPD (Lao People Democratic Republic) the party is not for the people !!!!
Our fellow Laotian is some of the poorest in that area. >:(
