Same as Dai, and Shan people. That's where Lao got our culture and tradition from. :)

Xipsongpanna is beautiful. Land is fertile you can grow rice, vegetable and fruits all year long. That's why they call it 12,000 rice fields.

Lanna is old name for Chinag Mai. Lanna million rice fields.

Now so beautiful now. rice fields are replaced by banana fields fed with chemical fertilizers. But, I think you can come to have a look, to have a feel. After all, we are a big family. but, I am not Dai individual.

If you go to Shan States in Burma or Isan in Thailand they also speak Lao. About 4 million Dai, Shan in Burma and 21 million Lao in Thailand. :)

I also have relative in Isan. :)

Have fun in Vinetiane. Isan was Laos territory until 1907. Majority of the population 21 million are enthnics Lao. They kept those area poor for a reason. "Politics" They could have build it like Bangkok if they want too.
