Post by ba dac on 11th Jun, 2013 at 12:49pm
I'm just curious is there any taxes in Laos ? I mean
how they go bout funding for roads and certain program.
I know alot of Laos is poor and live in rural counrty. But i
know there's alot of rich Laos also.I guess what i'm saying
is that are they just waiting for hand out from rich country ?

Yea, that what i figure.I been watching alot of youtube on
Laos.I been hearing all sort of plans and development thats
projected for years to come.I was watching the news and i
saw Japan was investing $1 billions in north Africa. It would be nice if that money would end up in Laos. But they probably realize sooner or later that money gonna get up in
the corrupt official.Oh well I can dream of Laos being free
someday .I mean free as influence from country like China and Vietnam.

I never like the idea of Laos receiving 'handouts'.  I am sure that there are exchange of something involved to get 'handouts'.  People don't just give away money y'all.

Most of foreign aid now handle most of the development project themself.

Would be nice if Laos is a free country. Laos current government LPRP was created by Ho Chi Minh.
In 1975 Laos sign Laos & Vietnam friendship.  Giving control of foreigne and economy policy to Vietnam, and station military base. That explain why Laos is the least developing country in Asia :applause

I think Lao is under French influence. Or has good friendship with Thai. They at least have some common ground in culture.

Yes Laos politics is influence by Vietnam, and Laos culture is influence by Thailand.

That's why Lao government bring in China to counter Vietnam influence :)

Well, thanks, a very delicate Teeter totter game.  I think culture influences politics. Very hard for these shots.

The 'old' generation leaders will eventually die out and hopefully the 'young' generation leaders can change into  idealogies to stay away from wha is called 'Vietvamese control'.

That's how Vietnam can swallow up Laos. By moving large Vietnamese population. They already control the government so in the future when Viet become majority in Laos. They become citizens have right and power in government. They can demand to be part of Vietnam and Indochina. And Lao have no say because no freedom of speech or press.

Man I still do not really know who I really am.  Local Villagers found me in the middle of the jungle a few years after the civil war ended.

Lao had a civil war? or the civil war refered to the civil war championed by Mr. Lincoln?
