The song is a sad love story and it is sung from the perspective of an ex husband and an ex wife. It is popular everywhere in Laos from what I can tell.

I will transliterate part of the lyrics in the Latin alphabet:

The man sings:
"Poor gao kon nii naa, tuk wan nyaa kit hok jao
"Wann ku gao, bo ta mi phaii"

And the woman sings
"Mia gao kon nii naa, tuk wan nyaa kit hok jao
"Yang ku gao, bo ta mi phaii"

ผัวเก่า by ศร สินชัย Pua Gao by Sorn Sinchai

The female version is called เมียเก่า Mea Gao

Dont know who sings the female version. Should be easy enough to find. Are you still in Laos Cowboy? I am also in Laos right now.
