Our cameraman took some exclusive photos of a young child being led away in handcuffs by police, most likely for stealing at the Boun That Luang Festival in Vientiane, Laos.

Some people didn't understand the use of excessive force, particularly tourists who shook their heads as they past by.

The handcuffs is only to prevent the boy from running away, and he is not harmed in any way. Once he is taken to the police station, the authorities would have asked him some questions to locate his parents. He would then be immediately released to his parents and they would be advised to teach their child not to steal.

Do police there still use revolvers?

Yes, they have the right to shoot anybody who doesn't follow orders.
