The Southern Bus Station or "Lot Meh Sai Dai" in Lao language is located 10km from the Morning Market in Vientiane, Laos, or around 20-30 minutes when traveling in a Tuk Tuk.

Buses at this station depart to the southern region of Laos, and buses from the southern region also arrive here. We took these photos early in the morning so it was pretty quiet. The bus station is at its busiest time in the evening when many sleeper buses depart to Pakse.

If you want to travel from Vientiane to the northern region of Laos such as Luang Prabang, you need to go to the Northern Bus Station which is on the other side of town.
