I understand completely. I would never enter a fight that allows eye gouges or groin strikes. But I also don't consider myself to be a warrior. Many Japanese fighters and some American fighters have said that they would prefer fights that allow eye gouges and groin kicks. A few fighters want to fight to the death because it gives them a very unique opportunity to cultivate themselves mentally and physically. Imagine going into the arena knowing that if you fail, you will die. I can see how fighting under such circumstances would lead to  spiritual transcendence.  Because at stake is not just a prize and money, but your very life.
