Fav Spots in Vientiane

Well, I am planning on visiting Vientiane in late August. Can you suggest a nice spot to take friends to? Keep in mind they are conservative, nice, family-type, home girls.... so no thanks to bars and disco.

Yeah temple and tourist-type things are ok. But what are some native secret places you all visit? I'm thinking of water/amusement park, arcade, hang-out-club, and of course restaurant.

It depends if your friends are locals or tourists?

Tourists will enjoy the many different temples in Vientiane and other famous sites such as Anousavali, That Luang, Buddha Park and the Morning Market shopping mall. There's a water park close to the Morning Market and many restaurants that cater mostly tourists along the Mekong Riverside.

USA Joe, Then forget temples and tourist sites, they've seen them a million times. Vientianians like to eat out, especially if the foreign visitor will pay for it. Many of the younger generation also enjoy ten pin bowling, the cost is only 10,000 kips (a little over $1 USD) per game.

Pankeo, Add Lao Plaza, Meena, Novotel and Soradith to your list of clubs.
