It doesn't really matter if he quits, he remains in the party and will still be a leader of some sort in the future.

Everybody wants to be a leader in Laos, that's why we have all these President, Prime Minister, their deputies, Governors and many high executive officials.

He only have one month left on his term. New PM but maybe same policy. Doesn't matter who's in power as long as they keep dveloping the country. If you ask me it would better if people can votes for their PM.

Lao Democratic Republic, We shouldn't vote for a PM, because shouldn't even have a PM, when there's already a President.

Well, like many other things in politics, we will never know.

Maybe there's been some disagreements behind closed doors, and he was forced to quit by his colleagues, but acting to the media that he resigned on his own terms because it will not tarnish the party's image.

That's just speculation. There could be other reasons why he quit.

How will Lao people know that an official is corrupt if the Government controls the media, and the people are not well informed of the extent of their activities?

I only hear or read positive things about the Government, so I don't have enough information to make a decision based on that. To vote, I need to know everything about them, their good side and bad side.

Well saids. I agreed. Lao people can votes when Laos become a free states. You know more about Laos internal affairs because you live there. I just read news and don't know much. I was born after 1975. I only want to see Laos doing well and prosper. Good or bad I still love Laos.

Agreed but right now people will be jail for speaking out. We need new Lao generation to step up, they're the one thats will lead Laos someday.  If one million Lao people hold peaceful protest in Laos they can't put everybody in jail.

They can't put everybody in jail, but the protest organisers will be jailed. The rest will be shot on the spot.

Thai officials showed no mercy to their citizens, and Lao officials will be the same.
