If someone could upload a map with the official border-lines, then that would be better?

Khammuan, what kingdom were they with? And Savannahkhet? etc....

Still hasn't answered my question. Maybe the current provinces were created after the fact. Who's that old interviewee?
We should try to claim back the Ong Phraew Keo. Even if it got loaned to us for exhibition in one of the museums (like they do in other countries).

Maybe LP Admins can answer your question. Lao government did ask for Issan and Ong Phraew Keo back. But it will only lead to war.

Before 1975 they teach about Lan Xang history in school. Now they teach Marxis Lenin propaganda. I remember as a kids going to elementary school in Laos they teach us propaganda to hate imperial dictator America for bombing Laos. I don't know about now though. That was in the 80's.

@ LoveLaos: I too loath what our country did to beautiful Laos and it's people, and what our UXO's are still doing today. If I had the funds to pay for the removal of all those bombies and other munitions I would do it in a second. I swear that is true.

I pray that one day I may be able to make a difference in Laos. Please believe my sincerity.

When you are kids you believe whatever the elder tell you, but as we grow older we know more, and know the truth. U.S has been funding removing UXO from Laos. They bomb Laos to stop Viet Cong from invading our country, and to bring Democracy. I understand there are collateral damage in war. I hold no grudge against the US government. Now US, Lao and Vietnam government has good relation.
