That's a lot of money for tips. He must be earning more money from tips than his actual salary. And if you add up his salary with his tips, he is a very rich man indeed.

I didn't get any tips while working as a Beerlao girl, that's not how we operate. When I was a teenager, I needed some money so I decided to give the job a go, but the small pay wasn't worth it.

But my friends only work part time 3 day a week. If he get $600 a week in tips that's about $2,400 a month plus hourly wage. In America that's not much, but enough to pay bills.

I'm sure that's enough for other things besides bills.

I heard that in America, it is essential to give tips when eating at a restaurant, and that you wouldn't want to go back there again if you didn't give any tips. Is this true?

No, I am not required to socialise with anyone. If customers were willing to talk to me, I was happy to talk with them though.

No, but I had plenty of people who liked me.

Perfect stated. Money management is the key to less stress living situation in the US. Do not spend more than you make. What about people in Vientaine, what rough estimated percentage of the population use the bank to manage thier money?

I only earned about $70 US in a month as a Beerlao girl.

They don't give free beers. I wasn't allowed to drink beer or any form of alcohol while working. It's part of their rules, not that I mind, because I don't like to drink anyway.

They didn't object to it, but the late night work was a bit of a concern. It didn't really matter much because I didn't work with the company for very long.
