what do they do with the leaves? I know they put taro in naam vaan. Isn't taro called peuak?

Yes, taro can be used in Lao desserts.

Taro leave covered model is 'Lao Dorothy' Wink. The sleepy drunk is not her because of her earlier non-drinking beer admission.
