Life in urban Laos is a bit more modern,
but we still have a long way to go to match
neighbouring Southeast Asian countries.

That's acceptable, we all have different lifestyle choices.

At the moment I like the urban life, as most of the younger generation would. When I enter my twilight years as a 60 or 70 year old down the track, I'll definitely prefer the peaceful rural life.

Most families in Laos are large so there's always someone at home to take care of little children.

Whether they are parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters, and some families have uncles and aunts still living at home.

Life in the urban setting is too chaotic and with all sorts of pollutions.

Urban life in Laos is close to the jungle lifestyle anyway.

If we look at cities like New York, Sydney and Bangkok, a "country town like" city in Laos is incomparable.
