That's does not looked like the Mekong River -bottom-most pictures?

The top-most image is inside a train?

Not my cheesburger .  I went to work offshore Newfoundland, Canada 3 years ago on a vessel and got seasicked throughout the trip.  What made it worse was that we were at the same vicinity where the Titanic had sanked.

Agree I should have not compare an apple to an orange because there are less wave effects from a river comparing to an open sea where waves can be at least 3 meters high and that is in  a 'calm' condition.  However, we asians are not biological inclined to be seafarers.  Vikings and Scandinavian people are the true seafarers.

Is this a typical mountain slope environment to have mainly low lying vegetations (or grass) growing on these relatively higher grade slopes above rivers and canyons in various sections of the country-north,centtral,south?   

It looks like a typical scene of the northern part of Laos to me. I haven't seen to the south yet, but I will be soon.
