a lot of people in Laos eat rats and other animals you know. Just go to any morning market and you'll see bats, rats, badgers, porcupines for sale. (raises hand, it was delicious btw..)

Something else I meant to ask is that you do cook these critters first before eating them. And it seems bats and rats and cats, pretty well anything that hops, skips or jumps is on the menu. Interesting.

The Rat is not the rat we find in city, here we call it Bamboo Rat. Domestically raised, one kilo costs 16 USD, wild one, one kilo costs 30 USD. It is nice.

Bamboo Rats are a popular delicacy in some parts of Laos and are eaten in a variety of dishes, but the biggest ones can also be skinned and turned into fur coats. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I saw a utube video of some hmong in the mountain of Laos.
They were hunting and gathering food .Man it seems like they were killing everything to cook.Which is cool and all.But
does Laos have season for certain animal or games ? Just curious .Do they have like park and wildlife agency ?

Maybe it is open season on the wildlife all year round that it is causing a problem in countries like Laos where a lot of animals are on the endangered species list.
