Judy Garland was a tremendous singer-actress who quickly established herself as a superstar after her special Oscar winning performance as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, a 1939 musical film which has become one of the most popular movies ever in the world.

The great thing about Judy Garland was that she was successful twice over. She made her name in classic movies, then she filled concert halls worldwide when she hit the concert stage during the latter part of her career.
