Meditation with non-lyrical soft musical tunes would work as well I think.  'Quiet' meditation puts me to sleep Cheesy Grin.  My experience is that music makes me more focus on doing concentration needed tasks like this sewing task that you are doing.

A quiet environment makes you concentrate better. That's why during exams and in some sports, you have to stay quiet. Easy listening music does help too in an office environment.      

Sewing thousands of sequins is a very tedious task and I can't do it without meditation. It's the most focused and time-consuming job that I have ever done in my life. After finishing one pair of ruby slippers, the job is not done because I have to think about the next pair, and the next pair and so on.
