Fresh coconut juice (or coconut water) is one of my favorite drinks, and they are delicious and always plentiful in Laos. Mmmm, yummy.

When buying on the streets of Laos, the average cost of a coconut juice is about $1 USD (or 8,000 kips), a large size coconut can cost $1.25 USD (or 10,000 kips), and restaurants can charge up to $2-3 USD for a coconut juice to cover their expenses such as rent, labor and electricity.

The white coconut meat is just as healthy and delicious as the juice, so remember ladies and gentlemen always drink more coconut juice than Beerlao on your next visit to Laos.

I do like coconut juice because it tastes good and has electrolytes to replenish the minerals loss during exercise.
