That is some Korean friend you have. A typical Laotian wouldn't bring a foreign friend to a restaurant to eat meals of that nature. Or we would generally ask first if dogs and cats was something they'd like to try.

I'm known as pretty adventurous foodie. My Lao friends back in Minnesota made squirrel and bear laab without telling me what it was. The bear was good, but i wasn't too fond of the squirrel. Yesterday, I bought ostrich and kangaroo at the market.

Geckos are good but not that much meat in them.

They are gathering for the rocket festival, which takes place in the fields away from residential areas.
